The Book

One of the most common complaints of business managers today is that employees do not work well together in teams within the workplace environment. When it comes to team skills, most people are able to talk a good game. Teamwork is something just about anyone will mention in a job interview. However, on day one of employment with the company, that same person is willing to compromise these team values in order to get ahead.

2+2=5 The Power of Teamwork was created to provide children with the opportunity to learn and develop interpersonal skills, essential for effective teambuilding. Surpassing all expectations, 2+2=5 has been life-changing.

When the 2+2=5 program was first created, I thought that I, as a college business student, would have the opportunity to teach children about teamwork. What I didn’t expect when I first set out, is that the children taught me as much as I taught them, becoming the foundation for What a CEO can Learn from a 4th Grader.

The fourth and fifth grade children were able to uniquely express and demonstrate these important team skills with a fresh perspective. Perhaps, professional managers, business owners, and CEOs can learn a little something from ten and eleven year-old consultants!

It’s amazing who we can learn from if we open our eyes and ears. Come along for a journey as the teacher becomes the student. This is what I learned from some fourth and fifth graders…
