Teaching is Key

team builders

All to often we assume that people in teams know how to do things. We assume that just because they work at the same company as us that they must have learned the same things as we did. Now, that might be a reasonable assumption for technical knowledge, but what about simple things as leadership, management and other types of soft skills?

Some would make an argument that those are inherent abilities, but corporate teams must learn how to teach these skills to others. I am not saying that people should be babied and should be shown how to do things, but I am saying that corporate teams to perform more effectively and efficiently need to show people how to be the leaders in a high performing culture. If these skills are not taught, whether through internal structuring or through consulting, company performance will not be at an all-time high!

If companies are worried about the “bottom-line” in a ragged economy such as now, corporate teams should stop figuring out ways to cut people and cost, and figure out ways to be innovative on teaching people how to work better as a team, and in turn, save the company time, money and resources.

Team members that are resistant to such team synergy are the ones that might feel threatened by this change, but it is change in a now high performance economy that will set any company apart from another. When you want to talk about the bottom line, just remember, everyone from the top down has to work together toward a common goal.
